Prayer For Our Children

  • Father, I thank You that Your Word prevails over our children (Acts 19-20). Grant us wisdom in bringing up our children (Proverbs 2:6; 13:1).
  • Help them not conform to things of the flesh or fashion themselves according to this world but be holy, in all conduct (1 Peter 1:14-15) desiring the pure milk of the Word that they may grow (1 Peter 2:2) that they are swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath (James 1:19).
  • Let their conduct be without covetousness and let them be content with what they have (Hebrews 13-5) that they do not forget to do what is good and right (Hebrews 13:16).
  • I pray that my children grow in the grace and knowledge of God (2 Peter 3:18) and abound more and more in how they should walk and please You (1 Thessalonians 4:1) that they submit to their elders and to those who have authority over them, being clothed with humility (1 Peter 5:5).
  • Help my children cast their cares upon You, Father, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Help them be doers of the Word, and not hearers only (James 1:22) effectively sharing their faith with others (Philippians 1:6) not having the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
  • Father, You have saved my children and called them with a holy calling, not according to works, but according to Your purpose. Deliver them from every evil work and preserve them that they will by no means follow strangers, not knowing their voices.
  • Give Your angels special charge to accompany, defend, preserve, and provide safety for my children day and night.
  • Help them to keep Your Word, and let Your love be perfected in them. Help them not to love the world or the things in the world and let them not imitate what is evil, but what is good. Help them walk in the light as You are in the light cleansing their hands and purifying their hearts.
