February 5-25, 2023: Creating a Vocabulary of Praise\u00a0<\/h3>\n
\n

Below is a list of attributes you can use during daily prayer to create a vocabulary of praise. Focus on one each day. At the end of the month, start the list over. You can also combine traits when the month is shorter than 31 days. Following this \u201cpraise program\u201d can energize your praise life, helping you to worship and adore God more plentifully and purposefully in prayer. It can also enlarge your vision and awareness of the praiseworthy God you love and serve and increase the evidence of His godly character in your life.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. God the Creator<\/strong>. \u201cCreator God, I praise You because you made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you\u2019\u201d (Neh. 9:6).<\/li>\n
  2. The Only God<\/strong>. \u201cGod, I praise You because You are the LORD, and there is no other; apart from [You] there is no God\u201d (Is. 45:5).<\/li>\n
  3. The Almighty God<\/strong>. \u201cO LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you\u201d (Ps. 89:8).<\/li>\n
  4. The Everlasting Father, the Ancient of Days<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You, Lord, as the Ancient of Days (Dan. 7:9), the Everlasting Father (Is. 9:6), who lives forever and ever.\u201d<\/li>\n
  5. A Loving God<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You because You are a loving God, whose very nature is love\u201d (1 Jn. 4:16).<\/li>\n
  6. A God of Justice<\/strong>. \u201cLord, I praise You and magnify You, who is just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus\u201d (Ro. 3:26).<\/li>\n
  7. A Faithful God<\/strong>. \u201cHeavenly Father, I give You my praise and adoration, because You are a faithful God, keeping [Your] covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love [You] and keep [Your] commands\u201d (Dt. 7:9).<\/li>\n
  8. A Merciful God<\/strong>. \u201cYou are a gracious and merciful God (Neh. 9:31), and I praise You for Your great mercy.\u201d<\/li>\n
  9. God, My Refuge, My Fortress<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You, Lord, for You are my mighty rock, my refuge\u201d (Ps. 62:7).<\/li>\n
  10. A Patient, Persevering God<\/strong>. \u201cFather, I praise You because You are\u2019 patient with [Your children], not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance\u2019 (2 Pet. 3:9). Thank You for Your patience with me.\u201d<\/li>\n
  11. Eternal, Saving God<\/strong>. \u201cI give praise to You, Father,\u2019 the only God our Savior.\u2019 To You\u2019 be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore\u2019\u201d (Jude 25).<\/li>\n
  12. The Holy One<\/strong>. \u201cHoly, holy, holy [are You] Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come\u201d (Rev. 4:8).<\/li>\n
  13. A Personal God<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You, God, because You are a personal God, who gives me the honor of knowing You personally, even inviting me to feast at Your kingdom\u2019s table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob\u201d (Mt. 8:11).<\/li>\n
  14. A Giving God<\/strong>. \u201cAll praise and honor be Yours, O God, because You are a generous God, who did not even stop short of giving Your own Son\u201d (Jn. 3:16).<\/li>\n
  15. A Provider God<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You today, Lord, as my Jehovah-Jireh (the Lord Will Provide), who makes all grace abound in me and generously provides all I need\u201d (2 Cor. 9:8).<\/li>\n
  16. God, My Shepherd<\/strong>. \u201cI bless Your name and praise You as my Jehovah-Rohi (The Lord My Shepherd), who will shepherd me and guide me in the paths of righteousness for Your name\u2019s sake\u201d (Ps. 23:1-3).<\/li>\n
  17. God, My Victory<\/strong>. \u201cPraise to You, my God, because You are my Jehovah-Nissi (The Lord My Banner), God, my victory,\u2019 who always leads [me] in triumphal procession in Christ\u2019\u201d (2 Cor. 2:14).<\/li>\n
  18. God, My Peace<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You with all my heart, Lord, because You are my Jehovah-Shalom (The Lord Our Peace),\u2019 the God of peace [who] will soon crush Satan under [my] feet\u2019\u201d (Ro. 16:20).<\/li>\n
  19. The God Who Heals<\/strong>. \u201cFather, I praise You because You are the Lord who heals me\u201d (Ex. 15:26).<\/li>\n
  20. The God of All Comfort<\/strong>. \u201cPraise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort\u201d (2 Cor. 1:3).<\/li>\n
  21. The God of Miracles<\/strong>. \u201cLord, I praise You because\u2019 you are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples\u2019\u201d (Ps. 77:14).<\/li>\n
  22. A Forgiving God<\/strong>. \u201cI want to bless You with praise, Father, because\u2019 you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love\u2019\u201d (Neh. 9:17).<\/li>\n
  23. The Burden Bearer<\/strong>. \u201cPraise be to the Lord, to God [my] Savior, who daily bears [my] burdens\u201d (Ps. 68:19).<\/li>\n
  24. A Faithful God<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You because\u2019 your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies\u2019 (Ps. 36:5), and\u2019 great is your faithfulness\u2019\u201d (Lam. 3:23).<\/li>\n
  25. King of Kings and Lord of Lords<\/strong>. \u201cAll honor and praise be to You, my God,\u2019 the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light\u2019\u201d (1 Tim. 6:15).<\/li>\n
  26. God the Liberator<\/strong>. \u201cI will praise You because\u2019 you are my help and my deliverer; O LORD\u2019\u201d (Ps. 70:5).<\/li>\n
  27. The Lifter of My Head<\/strong>. \u201cFather God, I praise You because\u2019 you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head\u2019 when I am weary or despised\u201d (Ps. 3:3).<\/li>\n
  28. God of Light<\/strong>. \u201cI praise You, Lord, because You are\u2019 my light and my salvation\u2019 (Ps. 27:1), and because You know \u2019 what lies in darkness, and light dwells with [You]\u2019\u201d (Dan. 2:22).<\/li>\n
  29. God of Joy<\/strong>. \u201cI give You praise, O Lord, because\u2019 you have granted [me] eternal blessings and made [me] glad with the joy of your presence\u2019\u201d (Ps. 21:6).<\/li>\n
  30. The God Who Answers Prayer<\/strong>. \u201cI praise and honor You, Father, because You are a God who loves to answer prayer and who begins to answer even before I pray\u201d (Is. 65:24).<\/li>\n
  31. The God of All the Earth<\/strong>. \u201cI praise and adore You, Lord, as\u2019 the Holy One of Israel . . . [my] Redeemer . . . the God of all the earth\u2019\u201d (Is. 54:5).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
