Bishop Paul Sharp

Bishop and Sister Sharp PhotoPaul Sharp learned hard work and dedication as a young man working on a farm in Indiana.  He had no idea then of the plans God had for him.  God was building in him the work ethic and integrity that would be necessary for his future in Oklahoma.

He married Young on September 1, 1983.  Young is the most compassionate pastor’s wife you’ll find.  She spends her days loving people and helping build the kingdom of God in her own unique way.  She is a gracious, sweet lady with a heart for helping wherever she can.  About a year after their union, God graciously granted them a son, Jason.  Jason is now a married man, and he and his wife, Stephanie have become an active part of the ministry team.  Jason’s love for God and vision for the work of God have added to Calvary’s success and appeal.

After spending several years as a self-employed business man, God changed the course of Paul’s life and baptized him with the Holy Spirit.  After receiving the calling from God to the ministry, Paul began to feel a deep concern to start a church in Del City,Oklahoma.  In June of 1988, the Sharps began having church in their home.  The Lord opened and closed doors in their path guiding them to their first location on 22nd Street.  Now in the third building since Calvary’s founding, their aggressively growing ministry resides at 39th and Epperly; however, there are no boundaries to the works of God in Del City.

With a deep concern for people, this couple is raising a church that is passionately continuing the work the Lord has laid out in Del City.  Leadership training and spiritual development are an active part of Paul’s ministry.  Paul has an intense dedication to building a church whose central purpose is to reach the lost.  Calvary will continue to be a center for revival in the Oklahoma City area for many years to come.
